SANDSTONE
The Cape of Pourion (Sandstones) lays on the eastern side of the north part of the island, next to Magazia.
The sandstone that is found there is used as building material, because it is flexible and easy to work.

ETERNAL POETRY
Close to the two museums of Skyros, north of Horio, you will find the statue of Eternal Poetry, which was dedicated to the English poet Rupert Brook. On February 1915, the 28-year-old poet breathed his last, while sailing with the British fleet to the operation of Dardanelia. |
